The craftsmanship on this guitar is incredible. The binding, fit, and finish are flawless. I did need to lower the action a bit, but I prefer lower action than most. The electronics allow for that classic Gibson acoustic sound, or you can adjust the settings to get a Martin/Taylor sound, or a more bluegrass sound. For me, I prefer the Gibson sound with it's rich mids. I would reccommend this guitar over the songwriter if you can afford it! The Indian Rosewood and premium Sitka Spruce are solid woods on this guitar, not laminate/veneers, so the sound will only improve with age. Also, the inlays are true MOP, not perloid. The fretboard is bound as well as the headstock, and the Custom Shop Logo is inlaid in MOP on the headstock..in my opinion, this is much nicer looking than the traditional small inlay found on many of the Gibson acoustics. As far as playability...it's a Gibson! It frets like a Gibson, and holds its tuning like a Gibson. Was this review helpful to you?
