I got the Light Burst with Chrome hardware. The fit and finish are flawless. The tiger maple is so buffed that it looks 3D. But we don't buy guitars to look at. They are bought to PLAY!! The sound of this thing is unmatched. I have read reviews of this axe where people don't find much use of the varitone switch. These people are NUTS! Fender has had a 5 selector switch on Strats for decades, why not Gibsons? Between the toggle switch the varitone switch I am able to get 15 different sounds from this thing. Gibson has recently stopped offering this axe with chrome hardware. What a shame. I have visited and toured the Memphis plant on several occations and have seen Guitars on the showroom floor where the gold hardware has started to "turn". They should go back to offering a choice of hardware. I have bought, sold, and traded probably 100 or so guitars in my day but this one will be included in my will. Was this review helpful to you?
