The Gibson A-5 mandolin is modeled after a one-of-a-kind instrument made by Lloyd Loar, the Gibson acoustic engineer who designed the F-5. It delivers all the functional features of the F-5-including magical tone and an extended neck-in the simple A-shaped body, saving you the big bucks that go into all that fancy scroll work. Carved spruce top with tuned parallel tone bar, maple back and sides, and bound extended ebony fretboard are visually enhanced by a gorgeous lacquer finish, flowerpot headstock inlay, triple top binding, and nickel hardware.
